ACCESS and ALEX

The ACCESS site is a great asset to Alabama high schools. It will help a lot of students to be able to keep up with the rest of their class and to graduate on time. It is a great program because it allows student to have distance learning in which they don't have to be in a classroom to participate. They can do it from the comfort of their own computer.
The program will also prove invaluable when it comes to summer school. Because when a student fails a course, they are able to make it up online. It also offers remediation courses which allows students to prepare to pass the graduation exit exams. Students will also be able to make up credits.
ALEX is a list of all the courses form kindergarten through High school and the course standards teachers have to teach. This is a state wide program and all teachers must cover them. If students were to look up the course standards they too would know what to expect in each class. This is beneficial because with this all students state wide learn the same material and are less likely to be left behind because of the teacher teaching something different.
